Switchgear Testing & Development Station (STDS), Bhopal

The STDS has been accredited as a Testing Laboratory as per IS0 Guide 17025/EN45000 standards by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) under Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The STDS is also recognized by International Electro-Technical Committee, France under CB scheme (IECEE-CB) for testing of LV HRC fuses, MCBs, Fuse Switch Units, Contactors and Motor Starters.

The STDS has a prolonged track record of testing and certification services running into fourth decade and with its laudable achievements hitherto the STDS can proudly claim that its laboratories are at par with any other international laboratory engaged in testing and certification of power system apparatus of manufacturers and entrepreneurs. Presently, the STDS caters to the developmental and testing requirements for quality assurance of the electrical equipment of its clients who hail from both small and large scale industries and entrepreneurs and as such the STDS is determined to make the power sector in the country self reliant

station 1:

Direct short circuit test station of 1500 MVA capacity utilizing a specially designed short circuit alternator. This station mainly caters to short circuit tests on high and medium voltages switchgears, transformers and other allied equipment.

station 2:

On line testing station drawing test power upto 100 MVA from the MPEB grid. This station mainly caters to short circuit tests on low voltage switchgears, transformers and other allied equipment
