Brief Description about the facility:
ERED has established a fully automatic lab facility for testing solar PV water pumping system and the facility is accredited as per MNRE, New Delhi and NABL. The facility can test all types of surface / submersible, AC/DC, shallow / deep well type solar pumps up to 10 HP capacity through direct solar PV panels and solar array simulators (for hot & cold profile) as per IS 17018: 2022 and MNRE specifications. The laboratory is also accredited as per ISO/IEC 17025.
Major Product/Equipment tested with applicable standards:
1. A.C. and D.C. motor solar PV pump set (submersible /surface) with capacity ranging 1.5 HP to 10 HP as per IS 17018-2022 and MNRE Specifications
2. 10 HP Monoblock Pump Set for agricultural application, as per IS 9079: 2018

- Hot and cold profile (given by MNRE)
- Realistic test on solar photovoltaic pumping system
- Shut-off head
- Head vs Discharge characteristics
- SPV Pump Controller efficiency
- Motor temperature rise test
- Static and dynamic MPPT efficiency at specific load
Range of the test ratings possible:
Pumping system rated up to 25 HP and suction head of 6 m.
