Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Division (ERED)

ERED has unique laboratories and facilities in power sector, which are fully equipped to meet the testing, certification, research & development and consultancy needs in the area of electrical power generation, distribution and utilisation.  It has been extending its services over past three decades in the quest for innovative consultancy and novel product development in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

 

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Division (ERED) takes the lead in research and testing activities in the field of renewable energy. ERED has been conducting Energy audit in thermal power plants, hydro power stations, process industries, buildings and commercial establishments. The Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Division is also ISO 9001:2015 certified. 

Test facilities

 

The division has 9 different laboratories for in-house testing and certifications:

 

1) Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Module Test Laboratory - SPV modules up to 500Wp capacity are tested for their ‘Design qualification and type approval’ and ‘safety qualification’.

 

2) Grid-Tied Inverter Test Laboratory - CPRI has the largest grid-tied inverter testing facility for India having capacity up to 500kW. 

 

3) LED Test Laboratory - CPRI has exclusive test facilities for LED lighting to assure the quality as well as safety parameters of the product. 

 

4) Solar Pumping System Test Laboratory - The facility can test all types of surface/submersible, AC/DC, shallow/deep well type solar pumps up to 10 hp.

 

5) Induction Motor Test Laboratory - Testing 3-phase induction motors up to 55 kW. 

 

6) Solar Radiation Test Facility - The solar radiation test facility can be utilized for exposure to products up to an irradiance level of 1000W/m2 and maximum temperature level of 55 °C.

 

7) Photobiological Test Facility - India’s first and unique laboratory for Photobiological testing of lamps and luminaires (optical sources).

 

8) EV Charger Test Station - Testing and research activities of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) up to a capacity of 22 kW(AC) & 50 kW(DC).

 

9) UPS Test Facility – For testing UPS of capacity 50 kW, 3 phase (and 10 kW 1 phase) with IS 16242 (part 1 and part 3) equivalent of IEC 62040 (part 1 and part 3)

    ERED has comprehensive infrastructure, computational facilities and a team of qualified Engineers for providing energy services like conducting Energy audits.  CPRI has been rendering the Energy audit and Energy conservation services for a variety of customers for more than three decades and has undertaken audits in several thermal power stations (TPS), hydro power stations, energy intensive industries, stationary DG sets, captive power plants, airports, port trusts, star hotels and commercial establishments.

    CPRI has BEE accredited and certified Energy Auditors.  Our Energy Audit activity is accredited as per ISO 9001:2015. We have expertise in providing consultancy services in

    CPRI has been carrying out Energy Audit & Energy Conservation studies since 1988 and has completed Energy Audit in more than 120 coal fired thermal power stations, 40 hydro power stations, 50 Energy-intensive Industries, 75 Major establishments/buildings etc.
