CPRI has established a laboratory for conducting IEC 61850 conformance testing of server IEDs. Accredited as a Level A laboratory by the UCA International Users Group (UCA Iug), USA, it is recognized as an independent test laboratory with a certified ISO/IEC 17025 quality system.
Established in 2007–08, the facility is regularly used by manufacturers for conformance testing and product development testing. It is the first laboratory in India to receive UCA Iug accreditation for IEC 61850 Edition 2, Amendment 1.
