Introduction:

Energy Meter test laboratory has state of the art high precision test facilities for carrying out type tests as per National and International Standards. The lab provides test facilities for Static and Smart single-phase/three-phase energy meters and Trivector meters, TOD, ABT meters etc.

Laboratory Features:

  • All Type tests facilities on Single phase, Three Phase Energy Meters, Transformer operated meters, Prepayment meters and Smart Meters
  • Data Exchange protocol, Smart meter communicability as per IS 15959 (Part 1,2 and 3) 
  • High precision state of the art test equipments.

The laboratory is equipped with:

  • Ten positions, fully automatic test bench with high precision reference standard of 0.02 class of accuracy
  • Six positions, fully automatic test bench with high precision reference standard of 0.02 class of accuracy
  • Single position, fully automatic test bench with high precision reference standard of 0.02 class of accuracy
  • Mechanical Test facility comprising of Vibration Test and Shock Test
  • Environmental Test Facility including IPX1-X2, IPX3-X4 and IP5X test facility
  • 3 meter Semi anechoic Chamber Electromagnetic compatibility test system for Energy meters

The following tests can be carried out:

  • Tests of Insulation Properties as per National and International Standards.
  • Tests of Accuracy Requirements as per National and International Standards.
  • Tests of Electrical requirement as per National and International Standards.
  • Tests of Electromagnetic Compliance as per National standards and partially as per International standards.
  • Tests of Climatic requirement.
  • Tests of Mechanical requirement.
  • Data Exchange protocol test
  • Tamper Verifications as per tender specifications of utilities

Tests as per the following standards:

  • Type test on AC Direct connected static energy meter as per IS 13779:2020, IEC 62052-11:2020, IEC 62052-21:2020, CBIP-325.
  • Type tests on Transformer operated static energy meter as per IS 14697:2021, IEC 62052-11:2020, IEC 62052-22:2020, CBIP-325.
  • Test facility of Smart energy meter as per IS 16444:2015 part 1 and part 2
  • Test facility of Prepaid energy meters as per IS 15884:2010
  • Tamper verification as per client requirement.
  • Magnetic influence test facility as per CBIP-325.
  • DLMS Protocol testing as per IS 15959 part 1,2 and3
