Polymers have been used extensively in power sector. Performances of these polymeric composites need to have correct assessment in various working conditions. The laboratory has state of art test facilities such as by Thermo Gravimetric Analyser (TGA) (up to 1000 deg.C), Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) (up to 500 deg.C), Thermo Mechanical Analyser (TMA) (up to -50 to 700 deg.C), Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) (-150 to 600 deg.C) , Thermal conductivity (-20 to 150deg.C using Hot disk method – ISO 22007-2) and Simultaneous analysis both differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) by SDT (up to 1500 deg.C),etc.
The laboratory has facilities such as Torque mixer up to 4500C, hot press compression molder, twin screw extruder, Film applicator (Doctor blade), Potentiostat/Galvanostat, Dielectric Spectroscopy, etc, for processing polymer blends and composites.
